Hello All,

I am trying to access internet using dialup connection.
I tried through wvdialconf and GNOME-PPP, but both are failing with no modem found error. I am connecting in Xubuntu 810 in dell Inspiron 8600 laptop. Is there any default modems??
I have searched every forum, but unable to find a perfect answer. If you help in this regard, that will be great.

Many Thanks,
Hari

I am not sure what you mean by "default modems".

Ignoring the issue of whether dialup is broken in Ubuntu 8.10, laptop modems are notorious for being Winmodems and not recognized in Linux.

I suggest reading https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SettingUpModems to determine whether your modem is even recognized.
