Hi
I am new to Linux although i've known about it for years.
I have just built a new machine and installed Ubuntu 8.10.
On recomendation I installed a backup package. Since doing that on boot up I get error messages about privilage requirements to access my home directory. I have tried to sort this out but get nowhere. So as this is a fairly fresh install with no real overhead I would like to start again. With windows I would probably just Reformat the drive and reinstall. What is the best way to procede with Ubuntu?

Same as in Windows, with a big difference of being able to use the live cd to copy your files to a safe location.
