I have cable broadband internet at my home and do a lot of online classes for college. Every now and then, the internet goes down and hampers me from being able to get onto my college's website. What i would like the Dial-Up isp for is basically back-up i the event i must upload an assignment before a deadline. I am running dual boot 8.10/XP and have a free isp (Juno) on XP, but if there's a free isp for linux i would like to check into that as well. I have searched for one compatible with linux to no avail.

I live in western NC (area code 828 if it helps).

Thanks!

If you find one, let me know.

I have the free Netzero account, but I can't stay connected to it. It connects, but the connection is dropped immediately. I know its not me because I did have Ubuntu working with AT&T Worldnet dial-up.

I think Netzero/Juno has versions for Linux, but those are the pay-only accounts.. I use the free Juno on my XP, and I like it pretty good (esp when i use Firefox with it). The only drawback is that is limited to 10 hours per month, which I'll probably never use anyway.
