I want to install Ubuntu 8.10, but I've tried both the 32 and the 64 bit versions and I can't get past the screen that you can see in the attached image.

My system consists of a Intel Desktop Board D975XBX2, Q6700 CPU, 4 GB of OCZ Platinum DDR2 RAM, 3 SATA 300 drives and one SATA 150 (the one I want to install Ubuntu on). I installed Ubuntu 8.04 successfully about a year ago but I think back then I had a Core 2 Duo and 2 GB of RAM, I don't know if that makes a difference.

Can anybody help?

Did you test md5sum on the downloaded iso prior to burning to know the download was a good file? Where did you get the file from?

Hi if all fails try using Wubi 8.10, it installs all automatically and is easy.
