i wish parallels would support directx hardware acceleration for linux like they have in parallels desktop for mac. they still have it on their webpage that they are going to get all the features for workstation that they have for desktop but that is not happening.

the reason i would like this is because i would like to use ubuntu as my main desktop OS and keep a virtual installation of windows around for the games. WINE doesn't cut it. i would like to build a system where i had a multi-core system with two hard drives for this very purpose. at the rate it's going (ie, nowhere), this will never happen.

the alternative is to use wubi but you get into the same problem of having to reboot your system just to play games. irritating. it looks like there's never going to be a good solution to this. and i can't find any info on vmware's site.

Alternatively you could get the game designers to support Linux
