Hi everyone,
I have exausted my mind the past few days trying to figuar out some things with my network. Ok to start off i will tell you what i am trying to do.
1. Acces either my vista desktop/ laptop from my ubuntu laptop and vice versa.
2.Write and read a file on any of those computers

I've done th following after days a researching
1. installed sambaclient, sambafs, system-samba-configuation ETC

Now i know it don't seem like alot of work but i have one issue i can't seem to figuar out.

My vista desktop i've had for years (the computer oiginaly had xp on it) so its allways been my focal point of my files ETC. Now before i get ahead of my self the Vista desktop and my secound laptop (also vista) are sharing enabled but won't even see each other over the network......When i installed ubuntu on my main laptop i wasn't able to see the network so i read around and installed samba. The night i did it i was able to see /Windows Server/ Workgroup/ and my vista laptop and my main laptop
but when i would try to look at the files on the computers it would show them as empty. Even the shared files on my ubuntu laptop would show up on the network ON THAT LAPTOP!.
So i put my networking off for a few days and tried it again today. Now the windows server in my ubuntu server network window shows nothing in it.

Can anybody help me?

Thank you.

P.S. Sorry if this seems all over the place
