View Full Version : [xubuntu] Rhythmbox won't work in Xubuntu 8.10, and I can't find music CDs in the filesystem.

A few days ago, I downloaded rhythmbox, ripped a Led Zepplin album, and all was well. However, when I ran it again to rip another CD, it wouldn't recognize any of my CDs. I tried reinstalling it (no effect), and re-inserting the CD while rhythmbox is running either does nothing or makes it crash completely.

To make things more confusing, I can't even access my CDs via the filesystem using either the terminal or Nautilus. While the folder /media/cdrom0 does appear, it is listed as empty - I don't get a bunch of music files to browse. What's going on here?
