I'm using ubuntu 8.10 with kde (trying out). I deleted the desktop panel (originally at the bottom of the screen) then when I added it again it went to the top. In Gnome if we add another one then it goes to the bottom but in Kde it just overlaps the old one at the top and I'm not able to send it to the bottom.
Thank you.

I am in gnome, and don't know kde, but you should just be able to rt click the panel, properties, and choose top, bottom, or sides ??

One needs to click the plasma symbol or right click the panel and choose 'panel settings' (widgets must be unlocked), then drag the panel bar to the side or bottom at will (not the screen edge since that will only resize the panel).
