View Full Version : [ubuntu] All video blips while running compiz

I had the problem in Gutsy, Hardy, and now in Intrepid.

It doesn't seem to matter what the source is, the video blips. This is true of the visuals generated by "Video Player", or VLC, or even a flash game/vid on/offline.

The workaround I've been using is using the terminal to temporarily replace it with metacity. This is great, but it can't compare to the eyecandy that is compiz.

Any ideas?

Depends on what drivers you use, and what Compiz behaviors you have enables. Could you share your setup?

I've tried many combinations of settings, right now I'm just using the bare-bones default.

I'm using the latest driver for both my ATI card, and my Nvidia card (two computers)

I followed that tutorial and it fixed not only the flickering problem, but the problem with the video flickering over other apps(like when playing behind firefox), fixed my flash pausing, and it fixed video playback not being able to keep up with the sound.

Thanks!
