View Full Version : [ubuntu] RAM too small

i have just obtained an ubuntu cd i ordered (v 8.04)
however it requiresd at least 384 mb of ram on my laptop. i have 256 mb. is there another version which i can use ?
any suggestions?

You can install it using the Alternate-CD, which supports installing on systems with at least 256mb RAM. You shouldn't expect sky-rocking performance, but it will run fine. You could also download the Xubuntu-8.04-alternate cd, which promises slightly better performance using a simpler gui.
