I am a fairly new Ubuntu user (Hardy Heron). I recently installed on an older computer that has a few issues resulting from a lightning strike, so it has no way of accessing the internet/LAN connection. I was curious if there was a way to install updates from a CD, and if so, how?

Thanks

http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading

Scroll down until you get to "Upgrading Using the Alternate CD/DVD".

if the USB ports work get a wireless USB card, I use a Belking USB 54g adapter and works out of the box in ubuntu/kubuntu
