Hello,
I'm about to install Intrepid Ibex on my laptop with an 80 Gb HDD. I plan to partition the HDD into a 30 Gb primary partition where I'll be installing Ubuntu & the rest of the space will be a separate partition. I want to move the /home directory to this second partition. How can I accomplish that?
(Sort of like moving the Documents & Settings folder in windows)
Can you please provide me with a step by step tutorial or point me to some place where I can find instructions...

Gnome & a lot of packages and applications use the Home folder. Will changing the location of the folder mess all this up? For eg. will the Home folder on the desktop point to this new location? Will I have complete read & write permissions in the new location?

Please forgive me if I sound idiotic.. I'm still very new to Linux.

Thank You

During the install you can select where to put your home folder........
