External hard drive now unable to mount

Hi guys, I had a crash and now it says something along the lines of

unexpected shutdown can not mount simpledrive please dismount in windows or if not windows force quit.

then it gives me a long command to input which i did and it did nothing.

does ANYONE have ANY ideas on how to force dismount external devices and remount them. usually if something happens i just unplug it and re plug it but that wont mount it.

i have also tried rebooting like 3 times as well too

GOT IT!!!!! and ALLS BY MYSELF

so here is what i did for those who may have the same problem in the future.

opened my vmware and completely mounted the hard drive in windows. then completely dismounted it in windows cleanly. DIRECTLY after that ubuntu grabbed and loaded it fine.
