Hi everybody!!

I want to do a fully customized installation of ubuntu. I mean, I would like to start off with a minimal system(or may be even CLI) and then build my system onwards. For example, I would like to have KDE 4.2 base system and just a few of the apps that I would really need. So, how do I go about doing this ? Any guides/links to point me in the right direction ?

Thanks.

Thanks guys.....but I was looking for a more comprehensive guide on what essential packages I'm gonna be needing and more. By the way, I've the Ubuntu alternate CD. I think that should do.

While https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/LowMemorySystems is a bit dated, you can look at it as well as the link at the top of the page to glean information on what you might want to consider. HTH.

Thanks for the input. I think that'll do for now. :)
