I am trying to install flash plugin but to no avial, I didn't like what Gash have done. I want to view youtube videos, It's so way slow too much pauses and Gash doesn't support some other flash sites.

Package flashplugin-nonfree is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package flashplugin-nonfree has no installation candidate

Gnash is the only flash plugin available for PS3.

Adobe doesn't provide it's own flash plugin for PowerPC-processors (and the main core in Cell is PPC-based).

ok thanks, what about shockwave or Java?

I'm not sure about Java, that might be possible.

Shockwave is definitely a no-go. There is no version of Shockwave for any Linux platform, Macromedia never relesed one and it doesn't look like Adobe would release on either.

Youtube, or any other flash-based site just doesn't work for me.

I've tried getting the latest version of flash (which i now realise isn't compatible with PPC architecture anyway), so i'm now reinstalling gnash and seeing where that gets me.

Up to now sites like youtube just say - your version of flash player is obsolete (or something to that effect)

I take it there are definitely no alternatives to gnash?
