I would love to get together an Ubuntu table at Defcon where we can distribute our love to the community.

For those who don't know, I am a huge security geek and would like to see what the Ubuntu community has to offer...

It'll be in Las Vegas Nevada on August 4-6, 2006 at the Riviera Hotel/Casino.

Not going to Defcon 14, but is anybody going to LinuxWorld in Boston this April? It'd be great to set up an Ubuntu table there, and it would be right before Dapper released...be able to generate some buzz possibly before the release. They're amending their .org pavilion application process, so it's not up right now. Is anybody interested in getting together and possibly generating buzz for it?

Seeing it's getting close to Defcon, anyone want meet up in the to get a table together? I will be in Vegas on the first.

Jackalope's a fellow Tart, and the Mac programming looks mighty tasty but ...

1) Mac Programming is all on Friday -- I don't know if I can get off from work on such short notice. (It all looks to be in the evening, though.)

2) $100 admission fee. Normally no problem but (a) impending computer purchase (b) this will be days after getting back from San Diego Comic Con. Money's going to be tight for me in Aug.

3) Right after SDCC -- which, given the size of the convention faclity, is arguably a fitness event. ;)

Or, in other words, PM me when you hit Vegas and if I can afford it and haven't gotten "con crud" at SDCC, I'd be happy to help (wo)man a table and pimp Ubuntu.

I was planning on going.. and then got a job to work that weekend. too bad.

making money > losing money (gas, admission, etc)

Nothing beats the excitement of Defcon right smack in the middle of Vegas.
