Hello, world!

I'm trying to switch a classmate here to Ubuntu, and I told him it automatically imports things like desktop wallpaper, etc.

The trouble is, we don't know if it imports things like internet options (he doesn't know the WEP key to his wireless network, specifically), so I need to know if it will import his network settings automatically, or if he's going to have to look for wherever he wrote down his WEP key.

His laptop will not boot into Windows Vista anymore (flashes blue screen and reboots), so booting into Windows at all is out of the question. I've also already backed up his data onto my own 1 TB hard drive, so data backup isn't a problem.

I'm unsure about his hardware specs, but I don't think it matters.

i've not done a dual boot with a wireless setup. but for security reasons i'd say those settings would not transfer.

Dunno about Vista, but with XP at least, it doesnt import anything at all.

Not at all - it doen't know what Vista.

You need to re-enter the WEP key in Ubuntu
