View Full Version : [ubuntu] Problem installing ubuntu

I have some problems when I try to install ubuntu 8.1. The program stops,at the beginning and a cant go futher - this is for
windows XP Pro sp3 . When I tryed to install inside windows 7, the program stop at: formating ..... 5 %.
I hope for some help !!
I am using Gigabyte motherboard Ga-M57SLI-S4 with AMD Sempron LE 1200.

Some things to check: did you do a md5sum check on the iso after it was downloaded and before it was burned to CD? Did you burn the iso to CD as an image, rather than a copy? Did you burn at a slow speed (4x seems to work well for me) to a CD-R?

are you booting from the cd or are you trying to run the cd inside of windows?

I note the OP is trying to run within Windows 7 when the last problem arose. It seems to me he shouldn't be trying to use Wubi with a Beta release, but regardless, it seems he has a bad burn as I view his problems.
