I'm in college in the Network Administration Program (http://cit.morrisville.edu/network.html) and I'd like to transfer to the Science, Technology, & Society (http://www.morrisville.edu/programsofstudy/schoolofliberalarts/sts/) program. I'd like to work a technical job - preferably something in Unix administration - and I'm almost done w/ school. If you were looking for potential candidates, would you be turned off by someone holding a "Science, Technology, & Society" degree instead of something like Net Admin when considering hiring a sys admin? I know the interview is really where you determine if the person is eligible, but I was just curious if anyone thought STS would send up any red flags.

The actual degree isn't the issue.
Most companies want people with experience, not just the degree.
If you have certification you will go much further.

You are better staying in your current field and then getting Masters in Business if you are looking to become a CEO or a manager in a more broader sense, or Computer Science if you want to become a technology director or CIO.

As you get experience your Network Admin degree will do more for you then people without a computer related degree. When its time for promotions, raise, etc.
