Hello Everyone,
This problem is getting quite annoying. I have tried burning a couple of CD's and still get the same result.

The machine has the following specs:

MSI K8T Neo V Main board
AMD 64 3400+
2 GB PC 3200 DDR400
Soundblaster XFI
nVidia 7900 GS
1 IDE DVD Burner
2 IDE HD's

M$XP works fine on the machine.

I'd really like to get Ubuntu running on this machine, I built a new gaming rig so I have no need for XP on this system now. I actually want to eventually run XP as a VM but that's later.

First I need to get this thing past this restart. It does not matter if I try safe GFX mode or the various different install methods. I can't boot the live CD or install. As soon as the kernel loads to 100% the system restarts. Any ideas??

I should say I am not a complete noob, I run 7.04 on my music server and I used to run 7.04 on my laptop until I needed it as a backup gaming rig.
I tried using the "all_generic_ide" command just in case it was a driver issue. That trick did not work.

I just popped in my 7.10 install cd and that installer is working. Hmmm. Interesting.
Any thoughts?

Resolved. I downloaded a new iso and we're in business.
