I've been noticing a few staff members with the declaration of Staff Emeritus. Just wondering how members with a join date anytime in 2006 could be considered Emeritus? Is this just an arbitrary decision? I consider Yaz a true Staff Emeritus.

3 years is a long time when it's an internet forum.

on the internet, even someone with as recent a join date as march 2007, is considered elderly.

According to the online Webster's Dictionary:

Emeritus: one retired from professional life but permitted to retain as an honorary title the rank of the last office held.

So it seems like anyone who leaves the staff could be given the title "emeritus", I don't think it has to do with the time involved.

Not all staff get the emeritus title, and as far as I'm aware it's up to the forum council to decide who gets that.

As far as I'm aware the only people with an Emeritus title are:

taurus
az
K.Mandla

Seems like chucky should be given the emeritus title since he's no longer with us!
