View Full Version : [gnome] Minimizing windows to Icons

I want my window list in the side panel but there it won't display the text or icons for each window.

1) Is there a way for my window list to work in the side panel?
2) Is there a way that it could only show the application icon, since that's
all I need?

I use 'window selector' (right-click on panel>'add to panel')

but you have to actually click on it to show app icons

1. Only if you make the panel wide enough to fit horizontal text.

2. Sadly, no. And it doesn't support vertical text either.

The window List applet really doesn't work well with vertical panels. It really is a shame, and it's the only reason why I still need to have a horizontal panel on my desktop. I'd prefer vertical panels as they give more usable space on wide-screen displays.
