yakuake misbehaving in gnome 1.9

This has happened previously so I simply switched to either tilda or yeahconsole but neither of them are as good as yakuake. Seems on the first update, Yakuake (which is a kde app I am using in gnome) goes screwy on me. You just have to take a look and see. I am getting no adverse output via the terminal because the app is executing...it just isn't usable in this form.
