Hey,

I was talking to a friend of mine that goes to school with me... I asked him if I could get Ubuntu to run on a Peti.2. He said yea its possible.. He said he got his working on 279mhz or something.

He said he used the 8.04 cd and installed only the base system.. I'm assuming he is talking about only the terminal?

Then building the visuals from ground up. He recommend Flex manger or something?

Because I never tried or cared to run it on this old of machine ( for father ) i have no idea even how to install only the base system.

Just a link would help great. or if any one knows what he is talking about?

Thanks,
Kyle

Here you go.

I'd like to add a word of caution, Ubuntu is not made for such slow systems, so if it runs at all, don't expect a speed demon. Slitaz or DamnSmall Linux would be far better options.
