Ok I just purchased Lenovo S10 netbook and it doesn't have a cd tray, and I dont have a large enough usb. I have a plan and was wondering if it would work.

Ok my drive has two partitions one 30GB one 100GB, windows is on the 100GB one so I mount dvd to a daemon tools and install ubuntu on 30gb drive then boot into linux and kill windows partition, but I am not sure if it is possible to install from a mounted image so what you guys think.

Try the mini install. You load the alternate install onto the USB, about 58megs in size. The rest is downloaded during the install. You also get to choose what will be on the laptop. Ubuntu, Xubuntu, Kubuntu, and or any server software.

this is a download install, so it will take longer.
