View Full Version : [ubuntu] Having problem installing to new Compaq CQ60...

I have a brand new CQ60 Presario laptop and I can not get the 64 bit version to boot from the live cd. I have been able to get a 32 bit version to boot however it is so choppy and slow it is pathetic. The 64 bit version was 8.04.1 and the 32 bit version was 8.10.....

I can get the 64 bit to load up to the third block on the progress slider and that is all. The caps lock light starts blinking and no more loading occurs.

I have posted in another topic about this issue and trying to clear it up with the model/make of this machine. The processor is an AMD Athlon X2 64 bit processor and such the 64 bit should load up...
