Just a small thing.

When I used windows, in Firefox, when you clicked in the address bar or the Google search box, it would highlight the words in the box but in ubuntu it just places the cursor where you click.

Anyone know how to change that?

In Firefox a double click on the address bar will highlight the whole thing.
As for Google, a double click will highlight individual words but not the entire bar, you have to hold-drag to do that. I don't know of a way to change the way these work.

Hope maybe this helps.

In the Firefox url address bar type: about:config

Enter

in the filter box type: browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll

left click and highlight this line "browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll"

(If the "Value" is false)

right click on highlighted line and select toggle

close tab of window.

Done - single click will now select the entire url, if you single click a second time it will place the cursor in the address where you clicked.

Did this work????
I generally do that every time I install Ubuntu for an ex-Windows user.

I added a Brainstorm idea to make this the default behaviour. If you agree, vote it up:

Ctrl+L and Ctrl+L Tab is the keyboard shortcut solution.

Thanks for all your comments!

I'll try the auto:config solution when I get time.

I'll be back!
