I'm planning to heavily customize my Ubuntu distro & I need to find a way to create my own drop down menu containing certain things (see my attachment: 'drop-down menu'). & I also need to find a way to create an area for all my apps that is kinda like the Mac OS X dock (see attachment: app area).
Basically, I want my desktop to look like my last attachment (whole desktop)
