Internet not working on Asus Aspire One

I just installed Ubuntu on my Aspire One using the instructions found elsewhere on this site. Everything went fine, except for the fact that my internet stopped working, and I don't mean just wireless, I plug in the ether net cable and it searches for the network address and whatnot before saying "Network Disconnected". Since I can't connect to the internet with a wire connection, I can't fix the wireless. So no internet = basically worthless netbook.

Any one have any suggestions? I'm fairly new to Linux so be gentle.

Fixed the problem, when you install Ubuntu you need to have the wired connection plugged in.
