I've been having lots of problems with file permissions lately. I dont know what I did but currently often when I try to install things (for example CPAN) I get file permission errors when trying to write to basically any system directory. I am the owner of the computer and I would just like to make it so I can write to any file/folder at anytime, how can I do that?

Here is an example of the type of error I keep getting (this is when trying to use CPAN):
Unfortunately we could not create the lock file
/usr/src/cpan/.lock
due to permission problems.

Thanks in advance.
