These lines should go in your Repositories file (Adding Repositories (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories/Ubuntu)). Go into Synaptic and go to Repositories -> add these lines to third party.

Refresh/Update your repositories after you save those additions and close that window. Then you can just search for easy cam 2 through Synaptics.

Find more here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EasyCam

Good Luck!

Thanks for your help, I now know how to add to the repositry! However when i tried it it could not find them, I am using Ubuntu 8.10 which i think is intrepid (comes before the last word main) do you think it needs a different name, ie intrepid Ibex? Or would the older version work, ie hardy
Thanks again

I don't know French so the website is a little difficult to go through....

I do not believe they have released an Intrepid build yet for 8.10

The only one they show is for 8.04 Hardy. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
