Hi, I got exactly the same problem as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kvm/+bug/239355. I was not even able to install a single CentOS guest, all 5.x versions hang as described, the 4.x even come with a kernel crash.

In addition to my bug request above I'd like to know from you how you got to run CentOS guests under 8.04/KVM?

I'm using a dual processor intel-vt capable machine with a Supermicro mainboard and I have installed a 64 bit Hardy Heron as a host system and I'm already desperate, everything else but CentOS runs smoothly (openSUSE, ubuntu, etc.). Actually, I'd like to manage the guests with virsh, IF the beast was running.

I tried proxmox VE and there, everything works as expected, but with that solution I'm not sure about how long it would be stable. I'd like to install the system now and use it for some years, including updates.

What are your recommendations for my intention?
TIA, regards, Michael
