View Full Version : KDE App Appreciation

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the KDE applications that I got used to using in Knoppix, like K3B and Kaffeine, can actually be installed and run trouble-free (so far) in standard (Gnome based) Ubuntu! How cool is that! I had thought that was the purpose of Kubuntu - to run KDE apps in Ubuntu. Guess I was wrong. Sometimes it's nice to be wrong.

Ubuntu and Kubuntu can do all of the same things. The only difference is the default software that is installed.

You'll get higher resource usage from using both GNOME and KDE libraries, but the two will mix fine.

I always liked K3B, its a great burning application.
Another good KDE application I like is Amarok, though I am unsure about amarok 2.0
