[SOLVED] browsing for a file = crash

If I try to browse for a file or folder in applications like rhythmbox or totem they suddenly close. I'm not so experienced with debugging so the only thing that I did was to open rhythmbox in a terminal and did the same thing and I only got a "segmentation fault" message. I've tried to find some info about this but I didn't find almost anything. Maybe there is already a thread on this but I did not know how to search.
I am using Ubuntu Studio with Gnome on a Dell Inspiron 1525

I have finally found a "solution" for this on the romanian ubuntu forum: I was using the romanian translation as default, and after I have switched to english I do not have the problem anymore.
