We're considering releasing the journalspace source code to the open source community. We may also sell the journalspace domain and trademarks.


Maybe we should encourage them to do so? This will add a 6-year tested platform to the FLOSS world, which will help new/aspiring and existing platforms alike.

What do you think?

I think they should :)

It'd be nice to see them try to get back up and running too, but I don't think they're going to try

Yep, they're completely shutting down JournalSpace after 6 years. I really hope they release the source code, it will be a waste to let it just stay in the cabinet.

I also hope the FLOSS Community in general encourages them to do so ^_^

Someone should add a feature that automatically created "read-only" back-ups, :p
