how to change bootsplash?

I am using ubuntu 8.10. I Installed kubuntu using apt-get command and selected Ubuntu as the default session.Even though i log inti ubuntu my bootspalsh is of kubuntu's. How to change it?
Also please tell me how to change bootsplash at my own needs?:popcorn:
