View Full Version : [ubuntu] Please suggest new PCMCIA WIFI card with WPA2 for 8.10

Hi all.

I want to ditch my WPC54G Linksys card for something new. The card works, even with WPA2, but the reception is just terrible compared to my other wireless laptops on the same network.

I'd like to pick up another PCMCIA card capable of WPA2 for use on my Ubuntu 8.10 laptop.

Would like something that would work out of the box using native drivers, but whatever.

Thanks,

Jackie

There is a list here https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessCardsSupported.

Strange you would say this, my WPC54G and WPC54GS work great. Originally they were working with ndiswrapper, and now with the b43 driver.

My WPC54G's signal has always been very poor. Be it Win XP or Ubuntu.

Do you find that you get a strong signal? Perhaps I just have a crappy card?
