I currently run debian/lenny, and because I want more up-to-date applications (gimp, OOo) I am considering switching to ubuntu/intrepid.
Two questions:
1. Is it possible to "upgrade" debian to ubuntu without having to start all over?
2. If I do have to start over, it is essential that I set up ubuntu in the same partitions as debian, with no repartitioning, etc. This is a laptop, and I have debian running on an external drive, with WinXP on the internal drive, and I do not want the internal drive touched in any way. I boot debian with GRUBforDOS, and that's the way ubuntu will have to work. I also have paritions used by Win on the external drive, so I don't want to mess with its partitions at all. I can't find a way to do this from the installer. Possible?
Thank You.
