I have a dual boot of opensuse and windows at the moment, and I am going to completely remove those 2 OS'es and use Ubuntu only on this hard drive.

How do I erase the MBR so that it doesn't load up and give me three options...
Ubuntu
Opensuse
Windows

Right now it boots and shows Opensuse and Windows, I am afraid when I install Ubuntu it will just add that to the list.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Tom

If you just want ubuntu only on the hard drive insert the live cd and tell it to use the entire disk.

If the other 2 aren't there when you install ubuntu it wont create an option for them.

How many hard drives do you have?

Excellent, thank you for the help!

So by formatting the entire drive, either manually or by choosing 'use entire disk' it will remove those old OS'es and not make menu entries for them.

Thank you, as soon as the torrent finishes downloading I am installing.

as Pumalite pointed out that if you have more than 1 hard drive and don't want to loose info make sure you choose the right one.

But if only 1 hardrive just choose it and it will do the necessary changes.
