My samsung eternity works fine with ubuntu, granted all I do is pop out the micro sd and transfer files that way. Are you looking for something more than that?

I use the Palm Treo 755p. It syncs perfectly with Evolution, and I have added my own ringtones (although that process is somewhat convoluted, no matter what OS you are using, unless you have internet access on the phone).

Unfortunately, they don't sell that phone anymore. However, they do sell the Palm Centro, which is basically the same thing as the Treo 755p only in a smaller form factor. My wife has one of those.
