Ubuntu and spdif output and HDMI

Hi,

I've build my Ubuntu server with this motherboard :

Asus M3N78-EMH HDMI (http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?modelmenu=2&model=2082&l1=3&l2=149&l3=643&l4=0)

Which is based on a Geforce 8200 chipset and has spdif output and hdmi output.

I'd like to know how well is it supported ?

I intend to add a window manager to transform my server into a multimedia plateform that will be plug to my home cinema amplifier and a video projector (I don't have it yet...)

Any sugestion for the window manager ?

Video works using the HDMI but they're still trying to get the audio over HDMI figured out here. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=957581

Don't know about spdif.
