This is my first time trying to intstall ubuntu, and I originally tried using wubi to simply install it without a partition.
After installing, I chose to boot from Ubuntu, the splash screen loaded, the little bar went back and forth, then froze completely.
I tried a few more times before reinstalling.
This time, I installed using the ubuntu iso straight from the website. I downloaded the iso, and mounted it using Daemon Tools, but the effect was still the same.
The splash screen loads, then freezes.
I tried the other safe modes that it offers, but none seem to make a difference.
