Basically I'm wondering if you could make a application start with "Always on Top" already on and maybe "Always on Visible Workspace."

As you may have already guessed I'm using Ubuntu so I'm just using GNOME desktop environment.

Thanks in advance.

You can do this with the Window Rules plugin in System-Preferences-CompizConfig Settings Manager

the compizconfig settings manager is not installed by default. If you havent already installed it you can do so by typing in a terminal:

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

Thanks for the help. Didn't know Compiz could do that. I have the Compiz Manager installed already but I guess I must have missed those option to do so.

I would give you guys a thanks medal thingy but the button seems to be missing.

Hi, I'm also looking to start a particular application in 'always on top' mode but the option to start with 'always on top' seems to have been removed from CompizConfig Settings Manager for 11.10. Is there any other way to go about doing this?
Thanks!
