As a recent convert from Fedora, one command I'm missing is the equivalent of
yum list <packagename>This command on Fedora shows a list of matching packages installed, with their versions, and a listed of packages available in repositories, with version numbers, as below.
yum list amarok*
Installed Packages
amarok.i386 1.4.10-1.fc9 installed
Available Packages
amarok-extras-freeworld.noarch 1.4.10-1.fc9 rpmfusion-free-updates
amarok-visualisation.i386 1.4.10-1.fc9 updates-newkey
amarokFS.i386 0.5-3.fc9 fedora I find this command pretty useful but haven't found the equivalent with apt. Does this command exist or is there some simple way to get the same results?
