This might not be the best place to post this, so I will understand if you need to move it.

I have seen this advertised ( http://www.xpcgear.com/usbdsc5.html ) and seen U-tube videos of it.

It clearly states that it is for all version of MS and also works on one version of Mac.

Since it seems like a good idea, I'm wondering if anyone has figured out how to make it work with Ubuntu?

TIA

i have one. there's nothing to do to make it work. just plug it in. ubuntu will see it automatically. if you use a laptop hard drive to transfer stuff, you don't need an external power source, just plug in via usb to power the drive.

Didn't even need the driver disk,
every modern OS will be able to use it as is. the driver disk is for Win98.

Hi LC

They work GREAT and are much HANDIER than buying drive enclosures!

However, unless you really need one, it's NOT HARD to feed a drive cable out of a computer along with a power cord extender.

I keep an old rubber mousepad on top of one of the computers and have the wires OUTSIDE the case to the top so I can plop any hard drive up there and plug it in, Without having to mess with the jumper settings.
