I'm in the market for a new PC-there's some good deals on systems with the OS wiped. Item descriptions state that "You must partition your drive before installing an OS". Will the installation disk do this, or do I have to do it manually (I'm clueless about this operation.)

Thanks in advance!

You can say "Guided Use Whole Disk" but it's better if you do it manually and specify a seperate /home partition.

In short, yes. If you tell the partitioner (which loads during your install) to use the whole disk, you'll be all set. I do this when I need to push another system out the door quickly...

anyways, I shan't ramble.

Your answer: yes.
