The thread Every personal copy of Ubuntu gives the recording industry 29 cents (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6476823&postcount=13) has been closed on the grounds that it was not directly related to free and open source issues.
It is my opinion that having to pay DRM fees for media which are to be used for Free and Open Source material is indeed related to free and open source issues. The decision by many a government to introduce such fees already has raised the prices of Compact Cassettes and writeable music CDs, and the danger of having to pay DRM fees for hard disk drives, OGG players and other devices is impending.
I respectfully request the thread to be re-opened.
