How can I include a short cut in the start menu?

In Linux they are called "links". Make a link to your folder, then move the link to the desktop, or wherever you want it.

Right Click
Create Launcher
In type: Change it to "LOCATION"
In COMMAND: Type the locatio of the directory
Click Ok

I see that you changed your post.

So you want to edit the Menus that are located in the top panel?

There are two ways to do it.

Right Click on the menus (Applications, Place, or System)
Click on "Edit Menus"

Now you can do whatever with that :)

2) Another way:

Go to System menu
Main Menu
