Hey guys, haven't been to this forum in a real long time, and I have a problem with installing ubuntu on my laptop. It's a compaq presario 700 that had windows xp on it, and I just got another virus that butt-pounding my laptop, and I think its about time I breathe some new life into this old thing. Stright to the problem, I used a live copy of ubuntu and it worked fine, and it seemed to recognize all of my hardware, and I only really ned it to get on the internet which is working. everything worked fine, untill I tried to actually install it. When I try to install it, it takes a really long itme to start the installer, and after choosing the language itc closes then hangs completely. I really want to install this since it works so well, so is there any work around?
