Hi,

I am very new to linux and have just installed 8.10 and all seems good. No sound etc yet but I'm not expecting miracles on the first day.

I have set it going to do all the 'critical' updates and 150 odd of them have D/L'd and installed without hitch, BUT i have hit a few that continually give a 'hash Sum mismatch' when they finish downloading.
I have tried some up to 4 times now and always get the hash error.

The updates are:
linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic
linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic
gnome-games-data

What am I doing wrong?

TIA

Go into System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager -> Settings -> Repositories and try another server. Try the Main Server if you wish.

Thank you taurus, that seems to have fixed it... does this mean that the file on the Australian server is corrupt?

Thanks
